Being able to reserve multiple days or time periods in a row is a function very important to 'equipment' reservations.  We are looking for a way to reserve museum passes, and these are always needed for several days at a time taking into account travel time, etc., besides just being at the museum.

Hi jklingel,

The business gmail account is a great option for libraries that don't have their own email server. However, I believe that gmail requires SSL and port 465 which are settings that are not currently available to the public. They will be in our next major release (V7).

Our support staff can make these changes for you. Just send an email to support@evancedsolutions.com and let them know which library you are with and that you are using gmail and would like the configuration changed to allow for that. If you let us know what time you are going to setup the gmail account with our software we'll be sure to make these changes at the same time so you don't have any email downtime.

Our library has a business gmail account and I would like to use this to send email notices in events. In the email settings for events, I have tried setting the SMTP settings to: smtp.gmail.com and chose "basic authorization" and entered the username and password for the gmail account. However, I get an error message stating that I need a STARTTLS command. How do I do this?

There is not currently a way to perform bulk actions on the Event Types. It is on our Feature Request list and should be added in the near future.

The Event Type Maintenance screen will allow you to rename Event Types and delete unused Event Types. But be sure to remember that you cannot delete an Event Type that is in use, even if it is in the archives.

If you need to combine Event Types (Like Storytime and Readingtime both need to be Storytime) then there is a support tool we can use to help with that. To request this kind of help please send an email to support@evancedsolutions.com and we'll work through those specific cases with you.

Hello.  We are in the process of updating our Event Type list.  Some categories are a simple name change.  Some, however, are a change that will mean finding individual exceptions and changing them.  For example, children's and Families.  If I change it to Storytime, I will need to find any programs that are not storytimes and change them to the correct new category.  Also, some categories need to be deleted entirely.  There can be no instances of that event type, so all must be changed to a different event type.

Is there any way to do a find/replace type of bulk editing to handle this?

Thanks,
Robin Bryan

Note, that these directions are for manual awarding of prizes and that these directions are subject to change.

Great! Thanks for sharing. This will help us a lot.

This was a problem in early versions of V6. It has been corrected in a version update. Please send an email to "support AT evancedsolutions DOT com" to request an update.

When ever I export into an ICal format(ics file) and then import into a calendar,  all the times are 1 hour early.

I have imported into Groupwise and Gmail with the same results.  The local computer time zone is set to Central Standard Time as well as the evanced server.  In the evanced settings, use time settings on computer is selected.

Any ideas to what is causing this?

Has anyone had any luck with recuring events in the cms calendar functionality?  I am looking to publish the event for a given number of recurring events specified.  Has anyone tried to do this?

Thank you,
